Independent art advisory for hotels — considered paintings, sourced and authenticated for lobbies, restaurants and guest suites.
Fine Art Consultancy
Original paintings for hotels — public rooms, suites and private dining, chosen for the place and framed for the building.
A hotel scheme runs to a pre-opening date that cannot slip, a budget expressed per key, and a brand promise that usually implies something more considered than hotel art. We have been dealing in nineteenth and twentieth-century European and American painting since 2001, and we are straightforward about where original pictures will repay the spend and where they will not.
Where originals earn their place
Public rooms, suites, private dining, the bar and the lift lobbies — the spaces guests photograph and remember, and where a real picture does something an edition cannot. We will say so if a bedroom count at your budget is better served another way. A smaller number of good pictures in the right rooms will do more for the property than the same money spread thinly across every floor.
A sense of place
This is the strongest thing we can offer a hotel. Rather than generic decoration, we source period paintings of the place the building stands in — the river, the harbour, the coast, the valley, the city as it looked a century ago — along with work by artists who lived and painted locally. It gives the interior a story the operator can actually tell, it roots a new building in its setting, and it is the kind of detail that reaches guidebooks and press.
Framed for the building
Frames are made and finished by hand to suit the architecture and the scheme: hand-painted coloured gesso, water gilding, waxed timber, profiles drawn for the wall. A consistent framing treatment makes a mixed group read as one collection. Glazing and secure fixings are specified for public areas as a matter of course.
Programme and documentation
Crating, delivery to site around the pre-opening programme, and installation. Written condition reports, dimensions and insurance valuations supplied for the asset register, and a record that still makes sense at the next soft refurbishment.
Working with your team
We work directly with operators and developers, and on net trade terms with the interior designer or art consultant leading the scheme, whose client relationship remains theirs.

Fine Art Advisory Services
The Lobby
The first space a guest sees, and the one that sets the tone for everything that follows — a considered piece here does as much to establish a property’s character as the architecture itself.
The Restaurant
A room built around occasion calls for a piece with real presence — chosen to hold its own across lunch service, private dining and everything in between.
Working with You
Most of the collections we place involve more than one advisor — an interior designer, a project manager, or your own art consultant. We are accustomed to working alongside the professionals already involved, and see our role as adding specialist knowledge to that team, not replacing it.
Professional Fine Art Sourcing
If a particular artist, period or subject is right for your collection but isn’t currently held by us, we can search on your behalf — including works not publicly listed, through contacts built over twenty-five years in the market.
How We Work
Discretion is not an afterthought for us — it is how this side of the business runs day to day.
Client names, locations and project details are never shared or used in our marketing without express permission.
Family offices, personal assistants and estate managers regularly act as our primary point of contact. We structure our process around that arrangement as a matter of course.
By named contact, encrypted email or a single point of contact within your team — whatever suits your arrangement.
Get in Touch
Whether you are sourcing a single work or planning a collection across an entire project, get in touch to discuss your requirements.
