Juliette Wytsman was the wife of Rodolphe Wytsman. She studied first under Hendrickx and then under Jean Capeinick. Her style betrays an affinity with that of Pissarro and Monet, and her ability as a landscape painter is particularly evident in a composition entitled Camille Lemonnier's Garden.
She travelled widely in Europe and exhibited for no fewer than 42 years (1882-1924) in Ghent, Paris, Berlin, Munich, Dresden, Chicago, St Louis, Rome, Venice, Edinburgh, Amsterdam and Barcelona. Examples of her work also featured in an exhibition in Liverpool in 1909. She was represented at the Esposizione Internazionale in Rome in 1911, where she showed her Dream. Examples of her work are on show in museums and galleries worldwide.
