La Moisson a Thomery
by Pierre Eugene Montezin
Marcel Felix Guillard was born on the 28th March 1896, in Paris.
He was known as a painter but predominantly as a ceramicst. His work in oil was usually of allegorical subjects and landscapes.
Guillard exhibited in Paris with the Salon des Indépendants from 1920, and occasionally with the Salon d'Automne.
During the period 1920 - 1922 he experimented with the pointillist / divisionist technique and executed a number of rare canvases of landscapes scenes painted with a square brush and very striking use of colour.
