1867 - 1945

A pupil of Léon Bonnat, Gustave Boulanger and Elie Delaunay, René Louis Chrétien made his Salon début at a very young age (in 1887), winning a jury commendation in 1889, a third-class medal in 1894, a second-class medal in 1895, and a silver medal at the Paris Exposition Universelle of 1900. He exhibited in Brussels in 1910, and was still showing works at the Salon des Artistes Français in 1940.
