Born 1892, in Mont-St-Amand; died 1974, in Zomergem.
Painter. Religious subjects, portraits, genre scenes, landscapes.
Évariste De Buck was a Belgian painter, best known for his landscape and genre paintings during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Evariste de Buck studied under Jules van Biesbroeck, Jean Joseph Lelvin and Constant Montald; he exhibited at the Paris Salon d'Automne in 1920. He worked in a strict geometrical technique perhaps influenced by Cézanne or even the Cubists. His overall style was Neo-Impressionist, breaking his compositions down into carefully-delineated spots of colour. De Buck's special subjects were scenes of childhood, bathers, landscapes and rivers.
