Adrien Tanoux studied under Leon Bonnat at the École des Beaux-Arts de Paris and was awarded a travel bursary in 1895. Tanoux is known mainly for his paintings of nudes in a harem setting. He took part in the Salon des Artistes Français in Paris and received several awards, including a commendation at the Exposition Universelle in 1889, a bronze medal in 1894, and a silver medal in 1895.
