| Provenance | Private collection - France The location of this work is believed to be under the vines at Marquayrol the family home of the Martin family. With thanks to Mme. Marie-Anne Destrbecq Martin who has kindly advised us on this work. This work is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Yann Farinaux Le Sidaner Mr Yann Le Sidaner writes .... "Claude René Martin passed away during the Second World War in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, in my grandmother's arms. As he was a very close friend of my grandparents (Louis Le Sidaner was the painter's son), I inherited his relevant documentation. I have not found a specific record of your lovely painting—which was almost certainly painted at Marquayrol—but it is, of course, authentic." |
