Devillario was a pupil of Jean-Paul Laurens, Tony Robert-Fleury and Jean-Jacques Henner. In Paris, he exhibited regularly at the Salon des Artistes Français from 1902 onwards, obtaining an honourable mention (1901) and a gold medal (1925).
