Palm Beach Show 2026: Rediscovering the Impressionist Circle

February 12th, 2026

The Palm Beach Show 2026 February 12–17, 2026 · Palm Beach County Convention Center

When we think of the Impressionists and Post Impressionists we think of, Monet’s water lilies, Renoir’s portraits, and Van Gogh’s sunflowers . But these  movements that developed over 50 years involved many great painters who showed their work alongside the more famous ones, shared studios with them, and made important contributions to the revolution in light and color that marked the time.

This February, Leighton Fine Art invites collectors to discover some of these painters, whose work is attracting fresh and continued interest from collectors of this period.

For example, Henri Le Sidaner’s tranquil and mysterious  town scenes look at the same transient effects of light that Monet was interested in, but in a more personal and intimate way. Or Jeanne Selmersheim Desgranges Neo-impressionist landscapes which advance the methodology of Seurat’s pointillist techniques. Her ability to capture outdoor light is often comparable to her partner Paul Signac, but her work has only just started to get the attention it deserves.

Our Palm Beach selection includes amazing works by artists like Edouard Leon Cortes whose views of Paris are iconic and paved the way for generations of future street painters. Armand Guillaumin, whose bold use of color influenced both Van Gogh and the Fauves; and Henri Lebasque, whose bright Mediterranean paintings capture the light of the Mediterranean perfectly.

These are noteworthy works of art by serious artists. They showed their work at the Salon, and throughout their lifetimes, their paintings were added to important European collections. Their impact may be seen in the work of painters who came after them. For today’s collectors, these are a chance to buy museum-quality Impressionist and Post-Impressionist paintings with a rich history, works that show new depths each time you look at them.

Collecting with knowledge and context gives you a distinct sense of satisfaction. You can comprehend the connections and new ideas that changed art history during one of its most important periods. Each painting we have on display tells its own story and helps us learn more about how contemporary painting came to be.

We invite you to visit us at Palm Beach 2026 to explore these extraordinary works in person (free tickets are available on request).
