| Literature | This work would have been painted in the lower Italian Alps near to where the painter was resided from 1949 until his death at the Villa Fiorita - a nursing home for patients with nervous diseases located in Brugherio. The work is painted on a canvas board with the sellers mark in Lecco which was a town a shirt drive north of Brugherio at the entrance to the Italian Alps its likely De Pisis acquired the board on his way to the mountains to paint. |
