Further information: The work depicts Isabelle and Irene Obidzinski, in front of the Observatoire de Montsouris, Parc Montsouris - Paris.
The Observatoire De Montsouris was commissioned in 1867 and was designed to replicate a smaller version of the Palace of the Bey of Tunis.
The Observatoire was abandoned in 1974 and burnt to the ground in 1991.
This work was exhibited at the Grand Palais at the Salon D'Automne in 1920 (ref no 2143).
