Literature: A very early example of the painters work from his time painting in Russia and exhibiting alongside Kandinsky, Rodchenko and Stepanova.
Nicolas Sinesubov was born in Moscow in 1891. He studied from 1912 to 1917 at the University of Moscow for painting, sculpture and architecture.
In 1919 he was commissioned to design the cover of the Russian magazine of proletarian culture "Cration", which was published for the Ministry of Press.
In 1920 he participated in the "Exhibition of the Four" in Moscow together with Kandinsky, Rodchenko and Varvara Stepanova.
He spent the years 1922 and 1923 in Berlin. The first Russian art exhibition in Berlin in 1922 showed his paintings Pensa, Frisør og Toilet as well as the picture Customs and Pharisees and Woman as Copper Print.
In 1927 he had a solo exhibition at the State Academy of Art Studies (GAChN).
After 1928, he emigrated to France, where he retained his stylistic affiliation with tendencies toward new objectivity and magical realism.
