Sam Salz was a prominent American dealer in Impressionist paintings and he and his wife's collection held some of the most important paintings by Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Paul Cézanne, Edgar Degas, Camille Pissarro,Claude Monet, Édouard Manet, Alfred Sisley, and Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec.
