Our fortnightly exhibition page gives us the opportunity to showcase the very best of our paintings from our gallery.
The days are getting shorter and the evenings are drawing in. What better time to showcase the wonderful nighttime paintings that we currently have on offer in our gallery?
Felix Ziem is famed for his portrayals of Venice – in particular his evening scenes – and his late 19th century oil “Clair de Lune – Venice” is an exceptional example, showing the contrast of moonlight on the inky blue night’s sky and the gentle waves of the water below.
Othon Friesz’s painting “Pont Neuf – Evening” is an important piece. Painted in 1903, it has all the hallmarks of an impressionist painter but we also see the first steps into fauvism with the use of deeper, brighter colours. This painting will be on display in the Musee De L’Havre from April to September 2020 in their important exhibition of impressionist paintings which is titled “Electric Nights”.
All of the paintings featured in our exhibition are currently for sale. Get in touch by either clicking the enquire button on the artwork page or via the Contact Us page.
