Fernand Maillaud

1862 - 1948

Maillaud studied under Hubert and Wallet. In Paris, his work was shown at the Salon des Artistes Français, of which he became a member in 1901. He received a mention in the same year, then awards in 1902 and 1909 and the Rosa-Bonheur prize in 1925. He also took part in the Salon des Indépendants and the Salon d’Automne. He was made Chevalier of the Légion d’Honneur. He was inspired, above all, by the landscapes of the Berry, the Limousin and Provence.
