Biography

A pupil of Isidore Pils, Adrien Moreau exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1868, and later with the Société des Artistes Français. He was awarded a second-class medal in 1876, silver medals at the Paris Exposition Universelle in 1889 and 1900, and was made a Chevalier of the Légion d’Honneur in 1892. Moreau illustrated Voltaire’s Candide in 1893, and E. Moreau’s The Secret of St Louis in 1899.
