WILLIAM JOSEPH J C BOND (1833-1926) Biography

William Joseph Julius Caesar Bond (born in Knotty Ash) was a premier artist of the Liverpool school and was greatly influenced by J.M.W Turner.

However, Bond developed his own completely distinctive style. His paintings are usually executed in warm colours, are light in touch and quite impressionistic. He painted several beach and coastal scenes, as well as some very attractive small estuary and canal scenes, of both the U.K and Holland. His media was both oils and watercolour, but of the two he preferred oils. His watercolours are quite rare.
