EDZARD DIETZ (1893-1963) Biography

Edzard was a pupil of Max Beckmann. He travelled in Germany, the Netherlands and France, and settled in Provence for a time. In 1929 he took part in the Exposition des Peintres-Graveurs Contemporains at the Musée du Jeu de Paume in Paris. He specialised in the female figure, painting several female portraits including young Parisian women, young girls, elegant ladies, actresses and dancers. He also painted numerous still-lifes, often with flowers.
