PETER VAN DEN VELDE (1634-1687) Biography
Born in 1634 in Antwerp, Van den Velde is famous for his paintings of ships at sea. He began teaching in 1654 and married the daughter of sculptor Sebastian de Neve in 1672. Van den Velde died after 1687 in his hometown of Antwerp.
